Kevin C. Riley

Kevin Christopher Riley is a passionate advocate for change, committed to rewriting the narrative. Raised amidst community engagement, he experienced firsthand the transformative power of collective action, fueled by the loss of his father due to a failed criminal justice system.

Married to Danielle, Kevin treasures his role as a parent to their three children: Brooke, Kate, and Caleb Riley. As a founding member of The Dad Gang, a national movement challenging stereotypes about Black fatherhood, Kevin amplifies the importance of a father’s presence in their children’s lives.

A Bronx native and proud member of Butler United Methodist Church, Kevin’s journey embodies service and leadership. He graduated from Mount Saint Michael Academy and pursued a B.A. in Politics, Economics, and Law at SUNY College at Old Westbury. During his college tenure, Kevin excelled as president of the Mu Omicron chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., earning recognition as Fraternity Man of the Year.

With over two decades of public service experience, Kevin has held various roles, including serving as Community Relations Director for Speaker of the Assembly Carl E. Heastie. He is currently the NYC Councilmember for District 12, serving the residents of the Northeast Bronx, where he resides. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Professor at his alma mater, Metropolitan College of New York, teaching in the Master’s of Public Administration department.

A lifelong learner, Kevin earned his M.P.A. in Public Affairs and Administration from Metropolitan College of New York, graduating with distinction and joining the Pi Alpha Alpha honor society.
